It is really interesting to note how it is difficult to communicate with someone if you do not share a common language. However, the first mistake to make is to try to “talk”, using few words from different languages: English and local languages. Most of the time, if what you want to ask is really specific, this won’t work. And it won’t work because once you try to convey the message in words, the power of the “signs” and gesture is lost.
People tend to stick to the verbal language at that point and the non-verbal language becomes completely non-efficient. If, instead, you try directly to talk in gesture, you might notice that it works much better. In this way, every word that comes after can only be a guess of what the gesture means.
The point is: verbal language is much more specific and less energy-taking if you share the same idiom, but we tend to forget how easy it is to talk without words and how this is more useful to learn new things!
Try and see!
